Social media outlets for veterans

An open letter to American service men and women:

I never served a single day, so I am always humbled in the presence of those who have.

The very least I can do is dedicate a blog post to the men and women much braver and more deserving of our freedom than I.

To those who have served and those who have lost: Thank you.

That’s all I know to say, and yet it seems so desperately inadequate.

My kids are now old enough to have the discussion about the meaning, the costs and the responsibility of freedom.

While my wife and I construct and deliver that moment, please enjoy this brief and incomplete list of Internet-based efforts being undertaken for you.

I hope something here benefits you or someone you love.

With sincere appreciation,

Mike

    Mike,

thanks for your support! Another social media site for veterans you may want to check out is http://www.myvetwork.com. MyVetwork enables members to view, create and share short video narratives created “by vets for vets”.

@tblood thanks for the comment and link. We’re about to roll out a client campaign for a program that provides Iraq and Afghanistan veterans the opportunity to own and operate their own family farm. It’s called Warriors to Farmers and we’re going to ask for lots of votes on the Pepsi Refresh Project. I hope any people and organizations in your network will help us support the initiative and feel free to contact me directly about the project. I’ll be talking about it in this space and on Facebook and Twitter starting later this month.
